Are you ever tempted to go bigger? Of course, and I have. Working in a miniature scale can become very tedious at times. I find it helpful to switch gears and work on a larger scale, be it in painting or sculpture. I find the shift in scale relaxes my hands and opens my mind. It goes from working with your fingers and wrist to working with your whole body. It’s physically a different process.

What inspires you? I’m inspired by people. Artists inspire me, as do people who are self-motivated and take a chance on themselves. I find artists to be some of the hardest working people I know. It can be a tough life, but I find the ones who are successful are the ones who persevere. Perseverance cannot be overrated.
